Calf tail hair is used for many traditional fly patterns. This somewhat stiffer, slightly wavy hair is very robust and therefore ideal for tying streamer wings, parachute patterns, salmon as well as saltwater flies. This productive natural material also finds its place as a tail on dry and wet flies. Simply universally applicable and available in natural as well as irritant colors.
