Also suitable for backs, wings or tails on dry flies. The long mane of the elk can also be used as tail material on may flies. It offers a realistic look and is very stiff in the lower third.

The tips are very soft, which is a great advantage for streamer wings. Also for legs and antennae this natural hair gives a soft play in the water. Moose hair is air filled and therefore floats very well. The Moose Mane from elk consists of very strong, stable and long hair. Suitable for fly tying body and tail on large extended body dry flies or pike streamers. It can also be used as a substitute for quill for dry fly bodies.
